Classic Pound Cake

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 cups butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Place flour, sugar, butter, milk, eggs and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Beat at a low speed for one minute, stop to scrape down the sides and beat again for an additional two minutes.
  3. Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan and smooth.
  4. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until a long pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from pan to wire rack and cool completely (1 hour).
