Classic Pound Cake
Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 cups sugar
- 2 cups butter, softened
- 3/4 cup milk
- 6 large eggs
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Place flour, sugar, butter, milk, eggs and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Beat at a low speed for one minute, stop to scrape down the sides and beat again for an additional two minutes.
- Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan and smooth.
- Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until a long pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
- Remove from pan to wire rack and cool completely (1 hour).
